Remington Primers
Ignition is everything in muzzle loading. This is why Federal Premium® developed the 209 muzzleloading primer to go along with their B.O.R. Lock Maz® ammunition. Both granulated powder and pellets benefit from the formulation’s enhanced moisture resistance and hot, reliable ignition in all conditions. Ordinary shotshell primers have this design flaw, but this one fixes it.
Each Remington primer is made up of several parts that are assembled with pinpoint precision. The primer mix is specially formulated for consistent ignition with a wide variety of powder types, and the primer cup dimensions are controlled to within.0001″. Primers’ stability is examined across a wide temperature range, from -20 degrees to +150 degrees Fahrenheit. The larger strike area and increased sensitivity provided by the tripod anvil design are achieved even when the firing pin is not precisely in the center.
