Any percussion muzzleloading rifle or shotgun can fire Pyrodex RS because it is compatible with all calibers. It’s the most adaptable powder in the Pyrodex family and can be used for a variety of purposes. It burns cleaner and leaves less fouling than black powder, as do all grades of Pyrodex.

Pyrodex RS
Hodgdon Pyrodex RS can be used in any sized rifle or shotgun that uses a punched percussion cartridge. It has more uses than any other pyroex powder and is therefore the most versatile. It is cleaner and less fouling than black powder, just like any other pyroex grade. A black powder with a particle size of 2F is used to represent RS.
No more than the recommended loads listed in the reloading manual should be used.
Never combine different powders, regardless of brand or origin.
Smokeless powder is never substituted for black powder or any other kind of black powder.
